Chateau Grand Traverse, founded in 1974, was the first winery established on Old Mission Peninsula. It focuses on 12 grape varietals: Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, Gewurztraminer, Gruner Veltliner, Merlot, Muscat Ottenel, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Riesling. The Chateau, which has views of East Grand Traverse Bay and West Grand Traverse Bay, also has a 6-room inn.
